Sprung
The tears of the passing
and the joy of new beginnings
Showers of renewed life
springing forth hope for tomorrow
The parting of the dreary dismal
releases rays of subsistence
enriching the soiled beds
A sprouted leaf limp with dew
gleams with struggling strength
to proudly stand tall
A glimpse of color
shadows through
the thin layered shell
Awaited by a near by colony
alive with daily chores
and the anticipation of an
overhead buzzing pilot
Distant news
To the whimsical youth
creating a muddied masterpiece
with eyes wide open to
the tiniest discovery
