Nyx's Reign

As Nyx leads darkness,
through the day lit sky
Evening falls over
a cottage close, nearby

Inside dancing flickers
Shadows entertain
Light has overcome,
Nyx's nightly reign

Greek Mythology
Nyx was the personification of night and depicted as a winged goddess. She rode across the sky in a two horse chariot drawing her dark mists across the sky. Daughter of Air (Khaos), she was the mother of Light (Aither) and Day (Hemera) and a large family of spirits. One of the most ancient of goddesses it was said that even Zeus held her in awe and feared doing anything to displease her.
