Borderline

Blurred wheels trek down the rough pavement
Expertise guides the rocket with precise precession
Leaning and turning, the board moves in rhythm
Caution abandoned to the adventure of speed

THUMP

With flailing arms stability diminishes
Control now obsolete, the rider is at the board's mercy
A continuous number of obstacles approach
Flying around, over, and past each one,
with speed envious to play station

Bailing is questioned, and as quickly dismissed

Balance is miraculously salvaged
and the spinning wheels grind to a halt
My heart rate slowly returns to it's natural beat
Looking back at my route, I reflect on the finished scene
Mesmerize not at my skill, but at my luck

Cautiously I put my foot on the board
Wiser…I travel forward
